Fairfax City residents who need help paying their city real estate and personal property taxes have a new option: an interest-free loan through the Treasurer’s Office, in partnership with John Marshall Bank.
The Taxpayer Assistance Program, or TAP, allows residents to borrow $250 - $15,000 to pay for real estate taxes and personal property taxes. Taxpayers repay loans in a set period of time (from six to 10 months) with no interest. Click here to visit the program website: fairfaxva.gov/TAP.
Those with delinquent taxes or fees may apply for TAP. Personal property tax loans are allowed only as part of a real estate TAP loan.

Applicants pay a 5 percent non-refundable application fee directly to John Marshall Bank at the time of application signing and finalization.
